“Deeds NOT Words” – The Nagle Family Motto
Nano Nagle Place in association with Cork Printmakers and Cork Migrant Centre continue their partnership by unveiling a Black Lives Matter Artwork on the three most prominent windows on their iconic Douglas Street, Cork City building this Friday.
The launch of the artwork comes after Cork Migrant Centre’s Youth Against Racism webinar where a number of young people, and their mentors, engaged frontline service providers in conversation on positive change for multicultural bodies, including the Ombudsman for Children, who has delivered his own report on Direct Provision.
The artwork became a way for the young migrants, and other young people in solidarity with them, to express their feelings in their own words as part of the global Black Lives Matter movement.
Friday’s event will feature some short dance performances, spoken word, and hip hop, plus words from some of the featured artists.
